Statement
The works come from what started as a refusal of the chaotic and fast-changing world to its observation.
In the series InTheRoom, the artist begins his self-discovery journey by escaping the chaos with which he clashed and taking refuge inside a closed and, temporarily, cozy room. Yet, the room soon becomes claustrophobic, turning into a cage.
The inner world that once brought comfort is now preventing the artist to free himself as he keeps overthinking about his emotions.
In the series, the theme of loneliness is explored. That is why bodies are shown alone, in a constrained pose and faceless, also allowing the observer to emphatise more and perhaps plunge himself too into the room.
Colours are also subject matter. The indecisiveness is explored and shown through unrealistic colours for a room, yet depicting a sense of oppression and overwhelmed feeling.
Objects lose their everyday meaning as they become symbols of a reality that is now distant and unreachable.
The artist becomes active part of chaos in the series DigitalDistortion. Still in the room, but free to observe rather than succumbing. A reinterpretation of Glitch Art is the means for such reflection. A more and more digital world allows for digital errors to become metaphors of hidden realities lying behind a deconstruction of elements.
Technology is used to find romantic companions or to change one's appearance. All human tendencies that the artist observes and rather than being overwhelmed by such revolutions. Again, objects are vehicles of symbolical meanings such a veil standing for a loss of intimacy or a glove for a stranger's hand interfering with nature.
Finally freed from its cage, the artist now seeks comfort in reconstruction as escape from the inevitable clash with chaos.
